The Fritz Welge family lived here until 1902, when in accordance to the will brothers Fritz and August Welge exchanged farms. The Clarence Welge family continues to live in this house. August Welge lived in the house until his retirement in 1936 when August moved to Howell's Ferry Road (now the corner of Foristell Rd. & Hwy Z) north of New Melle.
