    source: One Generation Too Late! Stephen Heinrich Gausmann from Germany to Missouri 1836 by Wilma Frances Finke (His great grandaughter) Marriage recorded in Westerkappeln Evangelical Church. The Westphalia Emigration Book shows a Steffen Heinr. Gausmann from Kappeln coming to America in 1836. On August 12, 1840 Stefen Heinrich Gausmann took out his first citizenship papers in which he "renounced forever his allegiance to the King of Prussia". Stefen H. Gausmann got 80 acres (Land Entry book in Recorder's Office in St. Charles, MO, date unknown) being the north half of the southeast quarter of section 9, township 45 range 1
