Emily Marie Brakensiek nee Stratman passed away on December 3, 2015 at the age of 95. She is survived by her two sons: David (MaryAnn) Brakensiek of Foristell, MO & Roger (Judy) Brakensiek of Warrenton, MO; two daughters: Ina (Steve) Duncan of Jefferson City, MO & Carol (Ted) Leverett of Wentzville, MO; brother, Albert (Babe) Stratman of Sullivan, MO; sister-in-law, Malinda Pauk of Kent, WA; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Brakensiek; parents: Albert & Martha Stratman nee Brueggman and infant brother, Roger Stratman. Emily was a lifetime member of St. John's U.C.C. in Cappeln. She loved baking for family and friends, and will be long remembered for her pies, cookies and her warm smile. The family would like to thank the SSM Health at Home Hospice team for their love, support and guidance at a very difficult time. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
