Erich August Brakensiek passed away on April 29, 2015 at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of Norma Brakensiek nee Meury of Foristell, Missouri. He is survived by his three sons: Dan (Sara) Brakensiek of Winchester, VA, Kurt (Kathy) Brakensiek of Cappeln, MO & Rick Brakensiek of Cappeln, MO; six daughters: Christine (Roy) Ramey of Cappeln, MO, Sheila (Gil) Duke of Corona, CA, Wendy Krueger of St. Peters, MO, Heidi (Sue) Martin of Cappeln, MO, Lisa (Tim) Borrson of Cappeln, MO and Heather (William) Stubblefield of Cappeln, MO; two brothers: Erwin & Wesley Brakensiek of Cappeln, MO; 18 grandchildren & 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edmund & Clara Brakensiek nee Thilking and sister, Ruby Shelton. Mr. Brakensiek was a loving husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather. He loved farming, woodworking, gardening, and he enjoyed watching the Cardinals. He was an active member of St. John's U.C.C., where he was baptized and confirmed. Erich was a WWII Navy Veteran, and he was also involved in the VFW. He was born and passed away on the same farm in Cappeln, Missouri. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
